If my car burns oil how long should the car last before have to fix it im not sure how to fix it ?

Sometimes oil use is a result of bad valve oil seals that can be replaced for a few hundred dollars - - - but it would be unusual for a 2000 car to need seals unless it was badly overheated at some point.Are you sure it is burning oil, and not leaking? If it produces blue smoke on start-up that dissipates after a while, could be valve seals. If there's blue smoke all the time, probably rings.4.
