1. John Says: It is a deisel and the glow pluggs constantly are not working, water gets in the car and ice forms on the windows, the heat doesn't work until it is moving, but I love this car and I just got a new stereo and speakers for it, I'm really unsure about this
2. roger Says: I wish I knew what to tell you they sure dont make cars like that anymore and that is an oldie but a goodie for sure. The mechanical part of that car engine and tranny will likely run forever the way this tank was built . I guess it all depends on what the car is worth tou you versus what shape it is in I looked on www.nada.com to see what one in good condition would sell for, average retail is 5,575 with high retail at 8,250 bucks. So your mercedes appears to hold its value very well for what it is.
you can also do some research on auto trader classics.com and see if you can find any for sale in all 50 states to help give you an idea of what one is worth. In the find section type in the year twice click on make and model skip any distance and type in your zip and the search engine should check the lower 48 states for that car. Another good place to check for what they are selling for is in hemmings motor news. There are likely a few there too. Hemmings.com is a old car magazine that has been around a long time and a good place to check for old car pricing. And to give you some idea of what something is worth.
3. Tim S Says: If I were you I would get shot of it as soon as possible. 70s cars today are unsafe. Poor handling and brakes generally unreliable and poor corrosion resistance (though yours is still here!) bad in a crash. Poor heating etcetc.
There are so many great charismatic reliable cars of every type built in the last 10 years why not get something that goes is safe doesn't use a lot of fuelnetc etc. a pleasant thing to own not an unpleasantness thing.
The best car I had was a Subaru. Utterly reliable comfortable fast safe etc. the most reliable brands are Honda and Toyota/Lexus

Tell me is your merc orange beige or any of those horrible 70s colours? If so another good reason to rid yourself of it!
