Captain Painn Says: I was thinking of putting a 454 Chevy on a frame and cutting the springs to drop it. Was going to use an S-10 frame, but i also have a full size frame too. Should i go with the smaller frame for maneuverability, or go with the bigger frame for the larger cutting deck? Also input on this idea is respected.

averystratford Says: It would be really cool once you finish. My ideas for the project would be put a transfer case on the drive train. Than have the front drive shaft somehow connect to a 90 degree elbow piece that would spin the blade for the lawn mower. The rear drive shaft would of course power the rear wheels so you could drive it around. If you do like the transfer case idea, you could mid mount the engine on the frame so that the spinning blade could sit right under the driver, which would give the front wheels a space to be.

just bored Says: Ya know there's already some very nice industrial turf equipment on the market, however they prefer to use a diesel and fluid power, as in hydraulic drive and PTO, far more efficient and problem free, HP dosent compare to torque in this application, just saying. US? Jacobson, Hustler, Toro, Ex Mark, Cushman, Ransomes, Dixie Chopper, John Deere, New Holland, Case, and quite a few others

samsquanch Says: am sorry, what??? You need 300+ hp for this? I think an old honda motor would be more than enough power and way lighter.
