Car questions - Help ?
(2012-01-03 15:30:07) 1. Says: Im am currently still 16 but planning onto driving in March. I have a few questions.1. When can I buy a car? Now? or when I'm 17? and when I do buy a used car, do I have to have MOT, insurance and road tax before I can drive off with it from the dealer?
2. When filling up at petrol station, Which pump would I need to use?(I am getting a diesel car) and if it says leaded and unleaded, which one is the diesel one? is the leaded dieseal or unleaded diesel?
Comfused...
Thanks in advanced.2. Says: 1) Anyone can buy a car and anyone can be the registered keeper of a car (often mistakenly called "the owner"), at any age. You cannot drive it on the road until you are 17 years old, though.
You must have insurance, a valid tax disc and a valid M.O.T. certificate before you can legally drive the car on the road.
2) You use the pump marked "Diesel". There is no such thing as leaded or unleaded diesel - it's just "Diesel".
"Leaded" and "Unleaded" only applies to petrol.
Be prepared for a shock when you get insurance quotes, though. You can easily expect to pay £4,000+, no matter what car you drive or who you get insured with.3. Says: its all irrelevant because at your age insurance is not going to happen Tag: Car questions - Help ?
