2004 Toyota 4Runner for a teen driver?

1. мєℓιѕѕα ℓєιgн Says: I'm turning 16 soon and I'm looking at getting the 4Runner. My parents don't want me driving a small car, which I have absolutely no problem with since I grew up driving big atvs and big trucks. I wanted a truck for a while but easily got out of that stage because of the gas and I really didn't have a reason to have a truck. So now I want a mid-size SUV, and I love the tough look of the Nissan Xterra, the Toyota 4Runner, and the Jeep Grand Cherokee. But the 4Runner has better mileage and is bigger/higher.

Anyway, is the 2004 Toyota 4Runner a reliable SUV?
2. Michael Says: According to Truedelta.com, a car reliability survey site, the 4Runner has about a 1/3 of the problems of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, as well as being more reliable than the Nissan Pathfinder. The Honda Pilot was more reliable than the 4Runner though. Not by much though. If you like the looks and feel of the 4Runner more, and they're good vehicles, I recommend you get it.
3. Kevin Z Says: Pretty much all toyotas are reliable. The Running gear off of a 4Runner is basically the same as a Tundra or Tacoma, both of which are proven to last. Plus it'll be easy to find replacement parts if you get into an accident.
4. Hamoon A Says: yeah 4runner is a really good suv my friend has it and it really good
