How to get rid of thick dirt/oxidation on your car?
(2012-01-11 15:20:12) 1. Says: I have a old Honda, the guy before me never waxed it or anything, so it has this thick dirt on it, and sorta oxidation. All the paint is fine its a coating of dirt and oxidation. I've searched online but its hard to describe what i'm talking about, I've used all sorts of things to help clean it, the best thing so far was turtle wax rubbing compound.I'm looking for something stronger. By hand it took me 3 hours to do 1/8 of my hood, polishing wheels does no better.
Anything at all will help, Thanks In advanced.2. Says: I've actually used kitchen cleanser in the past to restore a car's paint.
This is a kind of quick and dirty way to get the bulk of the work done fast and with the least amount of effort.
Wet the car down and sprinkle cleanser on one panel at a time.
Scrub the cleanser into the surface using a wet rag.
Repeat on all surfaces and thoroughly rinse off ALL the cleanser residue.
Now, depending on the surface condition, you can use either rubbing compound, polishing compound, wax, or a combination of all three treatments to bring the finish back.3. Says: I used Ajax powder type cleanser but I doubt that the brand makes much difference since most household cleansers are pretty much the same grit. 4. Says: if its white i use soft scrub bathroom cleaner.it makes the white perfect again try it on a little area first if your car isn't white to make sure it wont affect your paint in any way.just put it on your wash-mitt Tag: How to get rid of thick dirt/oxidation on your car?
