Ford cougar engine light on and mis firing ?
(2012-01-13 15:20:12) 1. Says: Ford Cougar. 2 litre 4 cylinder, or 2.5 litre V6. Either way, I suspect an ignition fault. Spark plug, HT lead, or coil pack. Get it professionally diagnosed at a dealer.2. Says: It could be your spark plug wires loose if you had your engine service that's probably why just you can do it yourself and adjust them or take it back to the mechanic just don't run your car to long like that or your ruin your catalytic converters and then your looking into the thousands in repairs for the cat.3. Says: Lots of lost Yanks tonight.Modern spark plugs and HT leads "rarely" cause problems, 9/10 it will be the coil pack at fault, especially as it has logged a fault and is telling you on the dash that there is a problem. Take it to a local garage and get the codes read and that will tell you exactly what the cause is.4. Says: thought it was a Mercury Cougar ? well thanks for all the info what type of eng is it what year of car is it?5. Says: Could be one of several things wrong?When was the last time that it has had a tune-up?Go too your local auto parts store and ask if they have a plug-in diagnostic checker they may do it for free too.....6.
