I got my permit my am I afraid to drive?!?

I am so stoked to be able to drive and get my license I love cars and have a lot saved up for a car. Once I got my permit I'm like woah this is a hit of reality! Driving isn't for fun and isn't game it's pretty serious. I used to drive back roads all the time but now I live in the city there is no back roads, a bunch of highways, and quite a few large intersections. I did a drivers ed. Also in my state you are required to take 6 hours of in car driving with a driving instructor so I am signed up for that. My first class is the 24th and I wasn't planning on driving until 2 classes with him. Both my parents are worry warts and are the kind to be like SLOW DOWN! SPEED UP! STOP! NO! bla bla bla.. They also refuse to take to driving in the back roads where there isn't that many vehicles. Can anyone give me advice?

I'm 25 and I had the same problem when I got my permit. First you don't really want to practice on back roads or area with no traffic. The traffic will let you learn how to deal with other drivers. Try going with your parents when they go to the store or another place so you can drive. You'll be fine, don't worry and don't get nervous you have nothing to be worried about.

Yes, most parents will be like, stop stop, speed up, go faster. It's normal. Remember your a 16 year old who thinks he knows it all. Your parents know more then you.

P.S You'll have to do a road test to finally get your license and unlike your parents he/she isn't going to really tell you what you've done wrong until after the test is over. They'll just say if you passed or failed. Also listen to your parents, yes, I know they can be really annoying. But look at it from there point of view.
