Is the use of FixaFlat recommended?

1. Ringo Says: If not then why not.
2. The Black Carrot Says: Only use when the spare has been just changed and goes flat and use it as a get you home or to the tire shop. Not recommended.
3. Ali Says: If you're planning on replacing the tire, then go for it. If you're not, I would say definitely don't do it- the stuff it turns into in your tire becomes a hard plastic like substance that most places won't even try to scrap out, and once it's in there, your other tires will wear funny to compensate for the loss of the air in the other tire (meaning the one tire will become less "bouncy", and the other tires will have to compensate for it). In other words, you'll have to replace the one tire soon to avoid replacing the other three. If you can, go to a tire shop and have them do a patch/plug, which would last you much longer than fixaflat. Good luck!
4. gee-man Says: it is not recommended, but it is ok to use in the case of an emergency, and as soon as you can take the tire to a tire shop and have them to remove it from the tire and have it repaired. It is a liqid form and it will cause the car to vibrate at high speeds because it throws the wheel out of balance.
5. br549 Says: For it's intended purpose it's great!

It will not repair slow leaks on a long term basis though.

Fooling with used cars as much as I do, I have used that stuff many times as a temporary "get it going" repair. I have had many tires changed that had that stuff in them and have NEVER been charged extra, or have had any complaints from the tire guys. I have also changed some my self with flat repair in them and have never seen any hard plastic or excess goo that was a problem!

The green slime stuff they sell for tractor tires will leave goo, but even that is not really a problem!
6. rob m Says: i like fix a flat the guys that have to repair the tire DONT and charge more to get the GOO out of there after its been used, but if you are out and findyourself with a nail or a flat two cans will get you out of there and home, really the main thing is it makes a MESS out of the inside of the tire with allthat SNOT floating around in it!!
7. Michael Says: some tire shops wont touch the tire if you use it is it a slow leak or a leak that goes down in few hours ither way i would take it to a tire shope it would cost you at most 20bucks for them to put a patch on it realy best way to go but if your short on cash and i know we all have been there then yes go with fix a flat it does more damage then good because it turns to water most of the time and doesnt do much depending on how bad the leak is but its up to you its a yes no type of situtaion
8. Pete M Says: In an emergency anything will do.

Tire shop employees hate the stuff though, it really makes a mess when they have to change the tire.

I'll use it if I get a flat and it's raining or there are no other options.
9. Michael Says: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOD NOOOOOO. SOO HELP ME GOD NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
10. Jack Says: No and HELL NO!
