First car help! My two decisions are Pontiac grand am gt or dodge neon.. read?

1. Zack Smith Says: my two choices are a pontiac grand am gt its a 2 door coupe looks very nice on outside mechanics say its good mechanically.. its automatic and it's year is 2001 with 153k miles for 3 grand... My second choice is a dodge neon year:2000 it has a bit of dents but nothing majour mechanics say its good mechanically also.. it has 100k miles its a automatic 4 door for 2,500 dollars any sugesstions? i havent heard many good things on the pontiac the 153k miles makes me nervous...

2. Joe Says: If I had to pick from the two, I'd take the Neon only because it has less miles on it. If it were me, I'd be looking for an American pickup. I say that because you can get one for about $1,000 or less and doesn't take much to fix most of them. They're simple vehicles that run great. They are more in gas expenses, but they are so hard to kill it's not even funny. I loved my old Ford pickup and it was fast, loud, fun, and invincible. Then I got T boned.

3. *~TISSUE~* Says: Speaking from personal experience the Pontiac is not a good choice with that many miles transmission in both those cars are known to go out at 200k but my first car was Neon and they r great cars
