Best Car for a Teenage Girl?? First Car!!?

1. Maariaa Says: I want to know which brand of cars would be the best for me to look at.

What I want in a car is for it to be good looking from the exterior, safe, affordable (under 20 grand, I dont care if its used or anything, as long as its not older than 2006) and drives smoothly. It should also have a good mileage.

The type of cars that I do like are dodge chargers, and Range Rovers, but those are not exactly "reliable" and they dont have good milages, but that should be an indicator of what kind of taste I have, the car needs to be attractive, inside and out!

What brands would satisfy what Im looking for, and if you can, name the model and year of the car that would be worth looking at.

go with a Honda Civic/ toyota. get an automatic, with front wheel drive. you didnt mention where you live. do you get lots of snow.. or?? before buying/deciding on a car go online.

If you found a 2007 toyota corolla for Example: look it up in google search. type in 07 corolla user reviews.see what other people who owned the car have said about the reliability etc. dont buy a range rover. its british, and unless you live in england, parts are VERY expensive. A mini cooper is BMW also very pricy to fix.

3. MartinObviously Says: What about a Jeep Grand Cherokee? If you get the 3.0 diesel it'll be good fuel economy too. you should be able to pick up one for under 20K. Since it's Range Rover like, same target market.

I wouldn't have said that Range Rovers are unreliable, I've yet to see one broken down :/ I know someone with a 1984 Range Rover and it's still going (albeit with a perkins engine!)

Also, I might add, no car is safe, only the driver.

Range Rovers are actually brilliant cars, we have one, 10 years old and only broken down once! If you have the money, get one!

5. Rob Says: I'm going to go ahead and recommend pretty much anything Japanese. Someone mentioned Toyota and that is an OK start, but I've seen a lot of issues with Toyota recently. I would say get a Nissan. They are very reliable and sporty looking so she will enjoy it.

I would seriously recommend the Nissan 350Z/370Z. Those are sporty, comfortable, and most chicks I know want one.

Fuel effic is so-so, but it's better than Ford and Dodge.

Dodge Avenger: It looks a lot like the Charger, but because it's smaller (midsize instead of a large car), it gets better fuel economy, and is cheaper to own in every way. The quality up until 2011 was sub par, but the 2011 and 2012 model years are very nice. Here's a few examples:

The 2010 and newer Ford Fusion is also a very sharp looking car you can get with your budget.
