What are some sporty looking cars? (eclipse, sunfire,firebird,cavalier z24, probe,celica)?

2. phoongdan Says: I like both Cavaliers and Eclipses. The non-turbo 2G Eclipse has a 2.0L engine with about 140hp whereas the Cavalier Z24 has a 2.4L engine with about 150hp. Maintenance and reliability will be about the same for both cars, it will depend on who had the car before you and how well they maintained it. What I don't like about the 2G Eclipses is that you have a timing belt that has to be changed regularly at 30,000 miles or you run a very likely risk of blowing your engine. The Cavaliers have a timing chain which only needs to be changed at about 160,000 miles.

If you are considering the Cavalier I would recommend you get a non-Z24 Cavalier.I know the Z24's look sportier, but you can easily turn a non-Z24 Cavalier into a sporty looking coupe or even sedan and the GM 2.2L engine is a much more reliable engine than the GM 2.4L. Also, you should consider the '00-'02 Cavaliers - they are generally more reliable than the 90's models.

The other cars on your list I have no direct experience with...but you might want to also consider a Nissan Altima. I had a '98 before and it was a good little car too. It's a sporty-looking sedan and they have a 2.4L engine with about 140hp. Very reliable.
