(2012-02-01 15:20:26)
1. Mike Says: 95 blazer,v-6. will it cause a problem to eliminate the catalytic converter and replace with a pipe then just put on a new muffler. will it affect the computor? the sensor is not on the converter itself, its in a pipe between converter and muffler. tryin to save a few bucks. thanks
2. bandit_60 Says: your not saving any money by taking the cat. off ! it will throw a code and make it use more gas. plus it will run worse because you will be cutting down on back pressure.
3. boater Says: Trying to save a few bucks on what? Gas mileage won't improve enough to make removing the cat worthwhile. If you need to replace the cat cause it is plugging up, it won't pass emissions if you remove it. An aftermarket or even a used one would be a better alternative.
4. Brian G Says: Yes you will get a code yes.. Will it hurt the car no. Will it pass any inspections no.
5. ? Says: Your cats are not robbing much power unless they are broken and if they were you would know.
6. Christian Says: yes it WILL cause problems... you will get a code for a exhaust flow problem
7. ? Says: You could do that, but it won't pass smog
