Based on overall dependability for non luxury brands only Buick, Hyundai and Toyota get 4 out of 5 stars (no non luxury brand car gets top 5 star ratings), Honda only gets 3 stars. So does Ford, Chevy, KIA and Subaru. 2 star (Lowest) ratings go to Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan and VW.2. Says: At this point in time, there are no really bad cars anymore. Audi and VW seem to be at the bottom of reliability, but even they are not real poor. Buy what you like and feel confident that it will serve you quite well.
This applies only to buying a new car. Used cars are dependent on how they were cared for by previous owners. I've driven rental cars that seem to be used up in less than a year by vicious drivers.3. Says: Luxury: Mercedes, BMW, SAAB
