Taking off the intakin i have an easy question?

1. Zack Says: when taking the intake off the manuel of an Isuzu Rodeo say to drain the cooling system does that mean to drain the coolant from the motor also. Im tryin to get to the heads i have a blown head gasket so im not sure about the cooling system to take off the intank off

2. matt Says: Really not trying to be mean here, but it doesn't sound like you have the know-how to do this job correctly. Head gaskets are not a simple job, even harder on a truck like a Rodeo.

Draining the cooling system will be necessary so you don't spill coolant everywhere when you take the heads off. There should be a valve on the bottom of the radiator near the lower hose. Loosen that valve and the radiator will empty out. Then take the lower hose off the waterpump, and drain the engine down to that point. That will be enough to prevent major spillage after the heads are off.
