What automobile tire is still made in America?

1. WACO Says: I am not ashamed to admit that I am a patriot and that I still believe in "BUY AMERICAN." And, I am even willing to pay a little more.
I just need to know what tire is made in America by an American company.
Does anyone know?
2. Passive Agresssor Says: Yeah, I'll buy American-made anything if I can find it - but isn't easy. Really ticks me when I see luxury brands passing as American, but they aren't: like you see dress shirts at the men's store . . . . in big letters on the label & wrapping "Ralph Lauren - New York - Paris - London" ..... then in small letters "Made in Bangledesh" - not only imported, but intentionally misleading and just says "rip-off overpriced".

On tires: problem is, within a given tire company's line, some models or even sizes are made in different countries. Both of my Fords came with Pirelli's (Harvey Firestone is spinning) . . . . needed a set last year and have always favored Goodyear and Dunlop. So went to the Goodyear store - - - - and they pushed (pushed STRONG) Hankook tires which I'd never heard of. So I surfed around and the reviews are good . . . . . . BUT . . . if the Koreans can sell me an entire car for $9000.......why the heck should 4 tires cost me $1000? Answer: store is pushing the brand with the biggest mark-up.

Goodyear now owns Dunlop.......some Goodyear's are still made in Akron but mostly specialty & truck tires. I decided on the Dunlops ($700) but they had to be special ordered (great, the Goodyear/Dunlop store doesn't keep their own brands in stock). Sorry, I've been afraid to check the sidewall to see what country they were made in. The kicker is, the Hankook tires were made in USA - but you know where the profits go.

I haven't found a resource that lists where each make/model/size is made. . . . . about all you can do is go to a big outlet like Sears and check all their brands. I believe that Coopers may still be American, but don't have a store near me.

ADDED: How's this: got a new Mustang a couple years ago . . . . I realize that car companies are multi-national and parts can come from anywhere, but at least the Mustang is made in Illinois. The window sticker had the percentage of US content and listed major imported parts. The automatic trany is made in France (great - the French are sure known for their high-quality cars, aren't they?........our Taurus has Volvo parts in the AWD - OK, I understand . . . but I wouldn't have bought the Mustang if I'd known it had frog crap in it.)
3. SemiDutchman Says: Cooper Tyres and Goodyear are American brand and are manufactured in the US.
Even though most (if not all) American tyre manufacturers also have factories across the world, the tyres sold in the US are largely Made In America.
Michelin also, even though not American brand, manufactures tyres in the US.
The surest indication of American made union-made tires is to check the DOT code.
4. jasin Says: Coker tires are made in america. 100% American made.
5. mailbox1024 Says: Cooper Tires are made in the USA. I use this brand on my Corvette!
