Are MG ZR 2005 1.4L's good?
(2012-02-03 15:15:10) 1. Says: Hi,Im looking to buy an MG ZR 1.4 2005 from a dealer. it has MOT untill May.
Are these good cars? its for £990 im only 19 so im obviously not going to be breaking the bank for my 3rd car. ive been driving mk 4 fiestas so far.
I understand MG dont make cars anymore, but are their parts still available if i need them?
Thanks2. Says: Biggest problem is the head gasket. If it has gone or not been fixed with the new design one it will cost £400 plus to fix in the likely though not definite case of it failing
A friend who runs a garage tells me they are now struggling to get hold of some parts for them too now - specifically recently he mentioned a couple of relays that are keeping one off the road.
many parts are available from breakers though.
Whatever you do check the insurance price for it before you buy as it could be high due to sporty looks and the possible parts problem.
Other than that you could easily get a couple of good years out of a nice looking car but don't expect to get much for it after that. For 990 not a bad deal depending on the miles and maybe beat them down to 9003. Says: has it still not occurred to you why they don't make cars anymore they have been rubbish so spares are not going to last long and supplies will run out in no time.
the MG name some 20 years ago was not good not like back in the 30's 40's and 50's it was then a good make but it has not been good for some ten years take the hint please.4. Says: They're pretty crap really. Head gasket failure is almost a guaranteed cert, as are numerous electrical problems and other faults.
I would never buy another Rover/MG car.5. Says: They aren't MG's, they are rovers with an MG badge slapped on them, and they're crap. Tag: Are MG ZR 2005 1.4L's good?
