Says: I've been thinking about this for a while and was wondering if this would be a practical way to wash my car?Obviously the water pressure would be my biggest concern, but other than that I can't think of any other trade-offs.2. Says: pressure washer is overkill for a good paint job its a great way to strip paint right off the car if you are not paying attention. The best thing is a 5 gallon bucket mostly full of car wash soap and a big soft brush you use regular hose pressure to get the worst of the crud off and then starting at the top wash down using lots of suds and water any dirt on the car. I do half the car and then dump the water and fill the bucket half full again with fresh water and soap with frequent dippings of the brush this keeps the dirt and grit in the bottom of the bucket and does not scratch the paint. you do not really need a pressure washer and its not a good idea unless you have experience.3. Says: Any type of pressure/power washer is not good for the life of your paint job or clear coat.
For best results, use the lowest pressure possible and hand wash. Use 2 buckets with car wash. One for cleaning the car, and the other bucket for cleaning your wash rag. Return to the clean bucket for fresh soap..4. Says: As to pressure washer . i once used a pressure washer that used really hot water. it softened the clear coat and the water blasted the clear coat it off the paint of my hood.( . dont use hot water.5. Says: Tide washing powder is the very best, just make sure you rinse it off really good. Tag: Washing car with power washer?
