Car payments question?

(2012-02-03 15:30:04)
1. Adam Says: I just got a used like new vehicle from a dealership. I put large down payment, and had a co-signer with 800+ credit score. It was financed by a local credit union at %3.5. Something that is bothering me is I could have swore that the man in the office said my first payment isn't due until March 10, but I got the car January 29.
2. mccoyblues Says: Nothing unusual about that at all.

It takes lenders at least 30 days to completely process your loan paperwork so they always push your first payment out. The Mar 10 date is probably based on your paycheck cycle.

I just bought my car yesterday and my first payment is Mar 6.
3. g Says: Adam,
Read the terms of your contract, immediately. If they are not obvious to you, for whatever reason, contact the "man" immediately for clarification.
4. Uncle Bo Says: I'm not going to look at a calendar, but Mar 10 is about 45 days from Jan 29. Some banks allow a 45 day period before the 1st payment is due.
5. Stupid Flanders Says: That's normal.
Your first payment is usually due 45 days after purchase.
