Ford Puma judders at 30mph?

(2012-02-04 15:15:08)
1. Laura D Says: My Ford Puma 1.7 W reg 2000 seems to have a slight judder when im in 3rd or 4th gear at around 30mph? does anyone know what this could be or had the same problem?

Thanks for your answers! :)
2. Fox Riley Says: Could possibly be a wheel balance issue or possibly worn suspension components, best get it checked at a decent garage.

EDIT: Almost like the engine juddering, if so then you might have a faulty engine speed sensor, if you get it into a garage and ask them to plug in the diagnostic machine, then that will display any fault codes what may appear.

@Harry - wow what a ******* **** answer, obviously you know nothing because Ford are in fact very good cars.
3. Bazza Says: Have the front wheels balanced at a tyre depot. Usually tyre imbalance vibration occurs at 60 mph ish but it can happen at particular lower speeds.
If this doesn't cure it you may have a soft or broken gearbox/engine mounting. These are rubber based and they do deteriorate over time. My bet is the wheel balance.
4. Michael B Says: If you mean the steering wheel shakes in your hands when you reach 30mph sounds like a wheel balance issue best bet rotate and balance all four tires and see if the judders stop
5. Timbo is here Says: Well for me its now a basket case and needs scrapping off the road for good
6. Harry Hubing Says: because it's a ford..
