Motorbike gearbox or engine problem?

(2012-02-04 15:20:12)
1. Liam M Says: I thought at first that it was my chain jumping a link, but I have had that replaced so can identify it as the engine, or gears. It has happened a couple of times before, and happened again today, I was doing around 50mph in 5th gear, and the bike suddenly revs like mad, like it has been put into neutral or something, but I didn't even touch the clutch or gear lever. It only lasts for about a second or 2 then goes back to normal, it's really quite strange. The last time it happened was about 150 miles ago. I have a honda CBF 125, Just wondering what the hell this is!?
2. kevusaborn Says: Sounds like a clutch issue to me. Have you ever changed in in the ????? miles you have on the
bike.
3. kevusaborn Says: You may have been overloading it with an extra passenger and dry goods, or your terrain may
be very hilly... A clutch should definately last longer that 6,700 miles. It would be nice to know if
there are adjustments that can be made to the clutch cable or clutch lever.
4. J MAC Says: Have to agree with kevusabo.
5. Timbo is here Says: Yes got the be the clutch
