Mercs usually use chains, & unless it's rattling then you needn't worry about it. The supercharger itself will be belt driven.

There's no specific service recommendation to change it but they sometimes start to get a bit slack after 150k miles or so, but the noise will give you plenty warning, and they almost never fail in use.
