Replacing a fuse in car?

(2012-02-04 15:25:04)
1. Beverly Rose Says: Ok so my radio fuse blew. So I bought some new fuses from AAP ... My fuse box for my radio is under my hood...

First off, how do you remove a fuse from the fuse box without pliers or a fuse puller, can I just pull it out with my hands?
Also, do I need to unplug my battery?
It's dark out and really don't want to unplug my battery right now, it's just a radio fuse, will I get electricuted?
Next, should the car be on or off when replacing a fuse?

Thanks...
2. Y U SO STUPID Says: A fuse puller makes it easier, but it can be done without it. And no, you don't have to disconnect the battery, but I would leave the ignition off. And you won't get electrocuted.

Oh...check inside the fuse box...there may be a puller in it. Looks like small plastic tweezers.
3. ken k Says: car off and make sure you have the right fuse/what car are you fused to/this doesnt sound right as usually the hd fuses are under the hood and the little fuses are on the dash area/pull it out and jam in the new one/dont worry about getting electrocuted/worry about not getting the right fuse
4. Aceisaneight Says: You can pull it with your fingers and it should not shock you. You don't need to disconnect the battery. Typically I would have the car off when changing fuses although it really shouldn't matter for the radio.
