Regret a vehicle purchase.. would you?
(2012-02-04 15:30:12) 1. Says: I feel so stupid right now. Living in the land of trucks and SUVs, I was feeling very unsafe in my little Scion. So last night I traded it in for a rather large 2005 SUV. Love the SUV, drives great--but it's just not me. Further, I don't think I can really afford the gas long term. My mistake, I know. Should have done my homework. So, as dumb and embarrassing as this will be, I'm thinking of going back to the dealer and offering the SUV for a trade in on a somewhat smaller, more affordable vehicle, realizing of course they are not going to cover the entire amount of the loan and that I will end up financing the remaining balance on whatever vehicle I buy. So would you feel incredibly stupid and embarrassed doing this, and if so, would you suck it up and do it anyway, or drive the thing for 4 years hating yourself every mile? :)
Thanks for any and all respectful, insightful, enlightened and humorous answers.2. Says: you have whats called buyrers remorse and it all depends on how good or how greedy the dealership is. All you can do is go back as soon as possible and hope they will tear up the contract. Otherwise you may be locked into a four year term . This happens a lot more than you think and a good dealer will not take advantage and gain a customer. a crappy dealer will not care and take your money. So there is only one way to find out and you should have gone today. good luck. and in the future never ever maie a purchase like that until you have had time to get a good nights sleep ok?3. Says: Actually you should be able to back to the dealer and get your old car back I'm pretty sure you have 30 days to change your mind on a vehicle purchase at a dealership and void out the whole transaction.4. Says: I thought the gov't is trying to get the car industry to push the buyers into better mpg cars! If doing so, go for a newer car. Like a 2011/2012. Tag: Regret a vehicle purchase.. would you?
