Car Shakes and stalls at stop lights "Ford Taurus 2001 V6" (experienced mechanic diagnostic in need)?

1. William Says: I have a 2001 Ford Taurus (V6 engine, 230,000 miles). It ran fine until a few weeks ago when I took about three long distance trips (about 6 hours each time). This was, without an oil change. I also took two of the trips while the engine light was on. About a week ago, the car started to Stall and shake at idle, but these effects lessened when I put the engine in neutral. Also, the engine runs fine at high speeds. Since this shaking started happening, I have gotten an oil change, changed my oil and air filter and cleaned my mass air flow Sensor with CFC "Mass air flow sensor cleaner." The engine now revs much better; however, the shaking persists, but seems less intense, and the stalling has worsened. I got a tune up three months ago and changed my fuel filter and replaced my battery four months ago. The following codes came up when jiffy lube scanned the engine:
"Banks 1 & 2 Systems too lean" and "Closed loop fuel" They are p0171, p0174 and p0125
2. rick29148 Says: Smells like a vacuum leak. The fuel pressure regulator has a vacuum line to it, so the fuel pressure will go up a speed. That vacuum line could trigger both the lean condition & the fuel error.
3. crash24plz Says: bad EGR !!!! plus check what other parts of vac um to MAF to throttle check plugs or wire to coil to make fault codes
4. Joshua Says: So what's happening is when the car goes into idle the revs of the engine are suffering causing the car to shake; if the revs get too low the car will stall. When the car is in idle it releases a small amount of strain on the engine, this can be seen in the increase in revs stopping the shaking of the engine block and consequently the car.

The likely cause of this however can be found in either a blocked fuel line or fuel filter, as i have experienced this in a older land rover discovery. Other wise take out your spark plugs and see if there is any carbon build up (which looks like black on the tips of the spark plugs) and brush them with a metal brush.

If all fails, take it to a professional.
