How likely is it for a convertible to be rolled over?

1. Final H Says: I'm eventually going to sell my large truck and get a two door, two seat only car. A lot of them are convertibles with a retractable roof. The roof is usually made of what looks like leather or material or something. Even with that kind of roof up, it won't don much if the car ends up in a collision and rolls over upside down. The passengers will still be crushed.

How likely is it that a car will be rolled over?

2. gooseboy78 Says: only if its a something like a suv and you corner too fast. highly unlikely. but put a roll over bar in it for safety i do agree with the comment if you act like a complete knob you will roll it. but in general no. also if you do get t boned by a truck the roll bar will help keep the structural integrity of the car

3. Huge Says: In Europe virtually all convertables have roll-over protection bars that pop-up enough to protect you in the event of a crash and roll. I would have thought that US would have similar so don't worry. Also, to the likelyhood of a roll-over is no more likely in one car type than any other as long as you are only doing normal driving and not racing or rallying.

4. Tots n nuggets Says: depends. if your just driving it as a comuter around town lieka normal being than u will proably not flip as long as ur not driving like a dip ****
but if you smok those tires every light like me and. and drift and do all the funn **** that you can do with car then here is a higher chance to flip.
but mostly its a small chance. you will not flip just from driving. only in a crash situation

so personaly im not gonna buy a convertible. i will put roll cages in my car so i dont almost get squished like the guy in the video.
but regular driving your fine. unless a ****** semi hits you or a truck but you would be ****** anyways

5. Brian Says: Roll overs don't occur that often, but can and do happen if your struck the right way or high speeds are involved, such as freeway driving. Unless the convertible is equipped with a pop up roll bar such as those found on high end luxery cars, chances are you would be killed.

6. MartinObviously Says: It'll never roll over unless you are doing something stupid in it. (or have a really weird specific crash where you drive up a really really steep banking)

Modern convertibles have strengthened window frames to resist impact in case of a roll over.
