My 96 Accord EX has an F22B2 engine? normal?
(2012-02-05 15:15:09) 1. Says: isn't F22B2 for LX? EX should get F22B1???????WT*north american model..4-cyc non-vtec
accidentally discovered...surprise~2. Says: Yup F22B1 is the stock for your EX Accord, you have the LX/DX engine for some reason.
Stock engine probably went out so last owner went the cheaper route and got the lower model engine, that or it was stolen and replaced with a cheaper. Who knows.
Check your VIN number online just to see if it really is an EX chassis.3. Says: Yes, that is the engine it's supposed to have. It's only about 130HP.
It could be an engine swap though, I misread the "EX" lol. The EX has a whopping 15HP more.
Match the engine number, to the number for your engine stamped on the chassis identification plate under the hood. if it's different, then it's an engine swap. Tag: My 96 Accord EX has an F22B2 engine? normal?
