1. troutbum1982 Says: I am going through a jeep, I will be welding motor mounts, floor pans, shock towers, roll cage etc, etc, Anyhow the garage I am using is a friends, and there is no access to 220. I would like to avoid asking to get 220 installed so my question is do you think a 140 amp mig or oxy fuel set up would be sufficent for this type of work. I am fairly proficent with an oxy set up, just not sure if it offers enough structural integrity and warping is also a concern. And with the mig set up, I have only ran 220 set ups so I have no idea as to what to think on that.

I am very happy with my 110 volt hobart handler 140 amp mig with 75/25 gas mix. I have welded everything from body panels, floor pans, exhaust, roll cages, frames, ladder racks, etc with this one.

I put a 10 point roll cage in my camaro using this welder and it passed NHRA cert for 8.99 second 1/4 mile time. They do sonic weld checks for those speeds
