1. TaylorF Says: I really need help with this one because i've been looking online everywhere for a 92 water pump and could only find one which was 300 dollars. Would it matter that a 1994 is a 1.8L and a 1992 is a 1.6L? If a 94 water pump could fit that would be amazing because I found a lot of them for only about 100 dollars.
2. Old Man Dirt Says: Oil pumps on 1.6 Miata engines is a tricky problem. Here is why, there were three different crank shafts used and the oil pump has to match the crank shaft.

These engines may or may not have the original crankshaft in them, so you need to look at the pulley, this will help you to identify the correct year to use for the oil pump.
There are a few little tricks for using a oil pump for another Mazda product on a Miata. It has to do with blocking off the hole for the dipstick.
I have a late Miata crankshaft in one of my 90 Miata's with a oil pump for a 626 (If I remember right, did the replacement eight years ago so my memory is a little lax on what oil pump I used) that I blocked off at least on opening on that I believe was for the dip stick.
3. gee-man Says: I wouldn't think so ,but you can always call the parts store and get that info.
4. JBF Says: Different motor, different pump.
5. rick29148 Says: Oil pump or water pump ??
