ADD DUAL FLOW MASTERS TO MY CAR!?
(2012-02-06 15:20:04) 1. Says: I want to add dual flow master exhaust/muffler/exhaust tips to my 2000 ford crown victoria police interceptor... I want it to sound very good. But DO I STILL NEED MY O2 sensors(oxygen sensors) when i add this???And what serious would you recommend? I dont want it to loud or too low... I want it just right.2. Says: First off, "true duals" are not a good idea. Unless they crossover somewhere, they won't be emissions legal in most states. I suggest an X pipe added in with the mix. It will actually perform better than just two straight pipes coming from each individual manifold. Also, yes, you do need your oxygen sensors and catalytic converters. They are required by federal law. If you omit those, not only will your car not be street legal, but the engine will run horrific because the PCM (computer) needs the voltage signals from the sensors to operate the powertrain (engine and transmission as a unit) correctly.
If you don't want your system to be too loud, then stay away from the 40 series Flowmasters. Perhaps the 50 series would suit you better.3. Says: Yes

The ones described as quiet until you get on the gas pedal hard will be the easiest to live with / most fun. Tag: ADD DUAL FLOW MASTERS TO MY CAR!?
