edsplace89 Says: hi everyone, i have a pioneer deh 2000mp head unit. i looked at the wiring diagram and it says that my constant wire is yellow. so when i wire the yellow to a constant fuse, i am able to keep my memory and settings on the radio, but then my battery drains and i cant start my car the next morning without having to jump it. so now i have the yellow connected with the red to a fuse that turns on only when i turn the key on. can someone help me with this? thanks.

Marty F Says: Malty21 is partially correct, the blue wire is a remote wire...but its for an external amp. The yellow wire is for the radio's memory and shouldn't drain the battery overnight. If it does, then you have an open circuit somewhere else. The red wire is always connected to a 12 volt source that turns off when the ignition is off. If you have an amplifier installed, make sure it's connected through the blue (remote) wire.

Malty21 Says: There should be a "remote wire" that is blue hooked up. This is what will make sure your battery does not get drained.
