How to install a manual transmission on a 86 camaro z28 305?

2. ? Says: The clutch disc can move around some times while tring to "stab" the transmission. Check the alignment again with the alignment tool thst came with your clutch kit. Also it helps to have a second person helping. You should wiggle the transmission around while trying to push it in at the same time. Also a little grease on the shaft and on the pilot bearing helps(thin film). I am a ASE certified mechanic and do this everyday. Some times it helps alot to just take 10 and recoop.

3. Please punctuate properly, folks Says: That's gonna be a HEAVY gearbox! Get a friend under there. MAKE SURE you have the clutch plate in the right way around. I use a dab of paint on the disc, and paint "NO!" on the engine side - if I'm looking at that side, I shouldn't be! They really CAN he hard to locate, I had to put a board on my chest, and slide my Getrag gearbox off the board and into place. Have a helper tell you it's low, high, left or right in relation to where it needs to go.
