Should I try repainting my own car bumpers?

Says: You can definitely do it yourself and that site looked pretty valid. You want to pay attention to whether it's plastic or metal and follow the proper instructions. Plastic definitely needs an adhesion promoter unless you're just repairing scratches and you never want to be lazy and just paint over the existing paint. Sand it off and start from the bare plastic/metal. You can buy spray cans that are fairly inexpensive and guaranteed to match your paint code too. And if I were you I'd just take the bumper off (it's much easier than you would think) so as not to worry about taping off the rest of the car to avoid over-spray.
It's so much cheaper to do it yourself if you don't mind a weekend project; you'll end up spending at most $100 rather than $800. Not to mention that the lower the cost of a professional job, the worse the quality is going to be. I had my bumper repainted as part of an insurance claim and they didn't bother to even sand off the existing paint, so less than a month after it was done the paint was chipping off, revealing red paint under my silver paint. Sometimes if you want things done right, you have to do it yourself, and to get a paint job done right by a professional you're going to have to spend big bucks.3. Says: No, u can get it done cheap at a paint shop, it's not that easy to do, it will end up uneven and look really cheap/getto if not done right4.
