Help with TIRES AND WHEELS?

(2012-02-06 15:25:04)
1. mutha goose Says: okay so i got wheels for christmas and im going in to buy some tires in a couple of days for them. I DONT want to put the new wheels on the car until im sure winters over tho, but i DO want the tires on the wheels now. So my question is, if take my wheels in and have the tires mounted to them, can i just put them on the car myself when it turns to spring with no problems? i understand they will need to be aligned but im going to drop the car about 3 inches in the spring as well so, i will wait until the coilovers are on to do the alignment. but besides maybe needing a little air in them from sitting around, all i have to do is put them on and tighten the lugs right? or am i missing something?
2. evaohell Says: People who live in areas of extreme weather, where is snows heavily, for example, buy winter wheels, which typically are steel wheels with winter tires (tires that have spikes, etc). That means they have two sets wheels...so yes, you can mount the tires then store them. I would make sure that wherever you store them, you rotate them so there is no flat spot when you go to mount them on your car.
3. David Says: you can handle changing them yourself in the spring no problem. i would go ahead and put them on. we have had very little snow in ohio this year and i doubt we will get much more.
then don't put them on till you get done with car. saves getn it done twice and wear on tires.
4. Mark F Says: You can do whatever you want. Its your property.
