Why do some cars have golden logos on them instead of silver?

1. Silver Creek Says: I have seen several cars with golden logos on them instead of silver. My theory was that it was just in older cars. But today I saw a very modern-looking Lexus with a golden logo...what does this mean?
2. Mark Says: Special edition cars use gold badging. Its more common on JDM cars
3. Locoluis Says: Technically, the material in which a logo is made should mean nothing.

Logos are recognizable shapes, and are supposed to stay recognizable if you remove all color information from them.

Of course, the unspoken standard for car emblems is to be chrome-plated, and Lexus is not exception. But you can also use the same design and make it in gold, black, pink, etc.
