Best 4x4 for 19 year old?

Fiat Panda as that will probably the only one you would be able to get insurance on.

3. Evan Says: I would say something relatively safe and reliable like a 4runner. But most guys that age get Cherokees. Depends on what you want. Jeeps are best off-road, but kinda noisy and unreliable. 4runners do well in crashes and are the best asian off-roaders, but they tend to tip before 1995 model years. CRVs have a part-time 4WD system thats helpful on muddy dirt roads and in light snow, but little else, they're extremely reliable and economical though.

The Land Rover Defender, or the Land Rover Series (1, 2 or 3), especially if you are mechanically minded.
