Bad tire and balancing?

1. Hunter Says: So, if you had a tire Road Force at 28lbs( this is on a 04 Cadillac Deville),and the rim runout was ok but the tire was bad, would you even bother balancing it? I just had my service manager harp on me because I didn't balance it seeing as they needed to replace the tire anyways. Just curious to what other's opinions are. Oh and to show just how stupid the dealership was that brought it to us, all the wheels were counter balanced and they said it was worse when they left...whatever,cheers all.

2. Pete M Says: My opinion is that "service managers" are often not even trained mechanics and their opinion is more for the the dealership to make money, than to obtain the best service for the customer.
