How to install a hood on a 63 volkswagen?

Air-Cooled ACVW Says: are you talking about the decklid? the hood over the engine. if you look in the middle below the louvers there is a metal bracket that has a sideways looking 'u'. with the 2 spring clips in the holes on the decklid put the long 'U' of the spring on TOP of the bracket with the sideways 'u' not in the slot. push the decklid down so the slide brackets are in line with the adjustment slots and put the bolts in.
