1. <sol> Says: my dad wanats to know can u pleese help thanks
2. Dave87gn Says: It usually right in the front of the engine.you usually have to take off the belts and fan shrouds and stuff
3. Karle Says: remove belts hoses and fan....and possibly radiator to make room.......then unbolt it......

** u will need fan clutch tool or something to hold fan clutch to remove it....
4. Howdy Says: Take a look and see what needs to come off to get to the water pump. If you haven't done this before make sure you remember what bolts go where. You can buy a Chilton manual and it helps out a lot. It is also good to have another vehicle to get to the parts store. You can also get tools from auto zone just in case you need something that you don't have. Your basic hand tools is all you'll really need. Just make sure you get the water pump gaskets on right or the pump will leak and you'll have to take off all the accessories again.
5. chevyraceman_383 Says: Not easy to get too in that truck. I just replaced the intake gaskets on a 98 for a customer and it's a pain.

To get to the water pump IIRC you have to remove the sep belt and hoses of course, fan, fan shroud, the alt and bracket, AC compressor and the power steering pump and bracket.

To do that, you have to have a tool to remove the power steering pump pulley (and press it on later on re install)

And a tool to remove fan clutch
6. ms_beehayven Says: The water pump is held on by four bolts. To get to them all the crap in front of the motor has to come off. It's a do-it-yourself job if you have the tools and the time. I'm a girl that's done it. A big, masculine, hunky guy won't admit he can't do what a girl can will he? *wink*
