1. memphis Says: 2010
2. Mark K-NI Says: 5 series is a bigger, executive car. They dont make 5 series in a coupe. Only saloon and touring. And as far as I know until very recently (520d) they never came with anything smaller than a 6 cylinder engine. They come with straight 6's, v8's, I think the m5 is a v12 now.

3 series is smaller, available in convertible, coupe, saloon, hatchback. avaliable with 4 cylinder or straight 6 engine... except for the m3 which is now the only 3 series v8, previously a straight 6.
3. cramtime Says: The number.
4. I'macatholictoo Says: $25,000
5. shonei Says: the 5 series is slighter bigger than the 3 series....ummm....that's about it really....oh,the cost is more....ummm..that is it!
6. Steward Says: The BMW 5 series is larger in size and more luxurious. Consequently, the price will also be more expensive. The BMW 5 series also uses more fuel as it is a larger car. The BMW 5 series is more to a family car because it has more space in the rear compartment.
7. NJ-Cool Says: Go to the BMW website and do a comparison between the two. There are quite a few differences to list other than size and price.
