1. srmcquade Says: Call Summit racing and talk to their cam tech guys they will point you in the right direction. BUT you will need to know what kind of car its going in and what you want the engine to do, plus stuff like dif gearing, trans type and a few other things
2. rick b Says: Is it the 290 HP crate?

Keeping stock heads on it?

If so then something like a 204/214 duration @.050" with a 110 or 112 LSA will be the best size.

Brand wise theres many great brands and in that size any of them would work great

If you want to go alittle larger, the BIGGEST i would run is a 214/224 @.050" with stock heads, compression, etc on that engine
3. chevyraceman_383 Says: Best cam for what? How much does the car weigh, what is the stall speed, what are the rear gear ratios? What do you want the car to do in the end? Not alot to go off of here. The question is too vague for a good answer.
4. Allen W Says: If the engine is any good you should be getting a new cam as well as a complete valve train with it carefully chosen for the engine by the producer. That is if you have chosen an engine that is good for the use you intend.
5. Samboski Says: If you are getting a crate motor, your engine will have a new cam in it. Try it out before you tear into it. That's my suggestion! Number 1 rule : If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
