Are there any car dealers in So. California who sell old VW Buses or Vanagons?

1. newmommy Says: The only ones I can find are from private sellers and I would rather buy from a dealer. Thanks.
2. Rod Knocker Says: It will be hard finding a dealer with one for sale, but they are out there. A large dealership would ship any air cooled VW straight to the auction. If you need financing, you will need something of value to put up as collateral. Banks look at the age of the bus and say no way. You might be able to find a private dealer that does in house financing, but you will pay top dollar for the bus.

Don't let people tell you that the old buses are not reliable, that is a bunch of poo. Volkswagen is "the peoples car" and anyone can keep their VW alive with minimal effort and tools. I drive a 1973 VW Thing daily. It averages about 200+ miles a week and gets 26mpg (the engine is worn out)

I have seen dealers advertise old VWs on E bay.
3. uthockey32 Says: There are not going to be any that a dealer would sell. They are to old and dealers can not make money on them. It will be very hard to get anyone to finance a car that old.
4. Mad Scientist... Says: Sorry to say, neither one of those vehicles would classify as a daily driver since they are too old to be reliable, everyday transportation. They are much more suited to the collector who shows it, and drives it once in a while. VERY cool and classic(especially the Microbuses), but that's the deal.

If your looking for a reliable van for low amount of cash, find a dealer that will finance some like this:

NOT a classic, but the earlier Toyota's were rock solid in reliability, and pretty cheap to own/run/maintain.

Good luck!
