Where on the bodywork of a Mercedes Sprinter 212D van is the VIN number stamped?

(2010-05-29 15:01:33) 1. chapelgirl Says: We have a 15 year old German Mercedes Sprinter 212D panel van which we are trying to re-register in France. The bodywork has been undersealed with anti-rust protection and the DRIRE says this has obscured the stamped VIN number and we have to scrape it clean. The problem is, we do not know where exactly the VIN number is! We think it is in the front wheel arch somewhere but we're not sure. NB - we don't mean the printed VIN plate which is stuck to the driver's seat, we mean the die-stamped number on the bodywork.2.
