Where is Mahindra & Mahindra made and why is it named that?
(2010-05-29 16:42:23) 1. Says: They're made in India, and I think the company was started by two brothers named Mahindra. They started out making Jeep CJ-3Bs.2. Says: Mahindra & Mahindra cars are manufactured at multiple locations in India like Chakan, Nashik etc. The company was set up in 1945 in Ludhiana as Mahindra & Mohammed. Later, after the partition of India, Malik Ghulam Muhammad returned to Pakistan and hence, the name was changed from Mahindra & Mohammed to Mahindra & Mahindra in 1948.It is the largest utility vehicle (UV) manufacturer in India.
