My 2003 Honda accord v-6 is miss firing on all 6 cylinders how bad is this and how much could...?

I purchased a 2003 Honda accord v-6 today. the check engine light came on. I took it to my friends shop and he put it on a diagnostic machine and told me it was miss firing on all 6 cylinders. How bad is this? How much could this cost me if this is all that's wrong?

2. Pace Says: If you got any kind of warranty, take it back for warranty repair.

If not, you need to get this fixed. It could be VERY expensive because if it's been going on for a while it's likely the cylinders are carboned up and the catalytic converter ihas been burned out.

If you're lucky it just started a day ago and may be due to a slipped timing belt (unlikely), worn spark plugs (more likely), wet spark plug wires (less likely), or a dying ignition coil. It could also be caused by poor compression (very expensive to to fix), clogged fuel injectors (cheap to expensive) or an air leak.

Get it fixed right away or take the car back.

3. dickfaberracing Says: was it the proper scan tool? it sounds like there could be too many issues. get it scanned by someone who knows what they are doing and with the correct scan tool

4. ahpolkguy Says: Has the spark plugs ever being changed? That's your best(cheapest) scenario.

5. John Says: a misfire on all six cylinders is more than likely not a spark plug issue. I would suspect and egr valve. i you have access to the data list, look at the map sensor reading if it is about .98 volts then you would need a valve adjustment.

6. alexander m Says: simple answer its very bad and price range...well it can be any number of issues. you might luck out and all that you'll need to do is clean and regap your spark plugs (less than $1 fix)....worst case it could be several hundred if its compression based.
is your car 1996 or newer? if so you should be able to get the exact diagnosis with an obd2 scannner.
