Is it possible to get my 1996 Dodge Neons rear passenger windows to go down past halfway?

1. b Says: My front windows go down all the way and my friends who ride in the back seat only get their windows to roll down about half way(built that way i guess). Is there anyway I can modify them to roll all the way down? Without buying extra parts if possible.

2. Bandit-05 Says: Look at the shape of the door glass. Now look at the shape of the door itself.

Notice the cutout in the rear doors for the rear wheel wells? That is why the glass only goes halfway down...it can't physically go down past that point due to the shape of the door shell.

3. poptart:] superfriggencute! Says: Well, the rear windows are made like that. Its a safety thing to prevent kids from falling out windows and throwing stuff out windows. You could buy a whole new window or look up in your owners manuel how to fix it.

4. bandit_60 Says: i think there is a way.i think when you take the inside panel off there is a stop for the window. take it out and it should go down as far as the front ones. that,s child safety windows what they are.

5. helpful bob Says: Don't try to change or modify them bec of them being a child's, vehicle, safety law feature their vital in order for any warranty or insurance coverage issues and especially DMV or Ministry of Transportation safety concerns or issues.
