Honda scheduled maintenance at dealer or Midas?
(2010-05-29 17:14:17) 1. Says: The car has roughly 104,600 miles and is due for 105,000 mile maintenance. This requires inspections, changing oil, some fluids, timing belt, spark plugs, water pump and tire rotation. I got an over the phone approximation of cost from a Honda dealer and it was $1200-1500. I also got one from a Midas shop, this was more detailed since it was in person and on paper, $1000. I am wondering if it is worth spending extra in a dealer shop versus Midas? Would the work be just as good at Midas? I have no experience fixing cars, so doing it myself is not an option.2. Says: Places like Midas have a reputation of telling you your car needs repairs that AREN'T needed, and charging you for repairs or service they didn't actually do. There MAY be a few that are honest, but how will YOU know which ones??How would you actually know if your car has a new timing belt on it if you don't actually watch them put it in?
You are a lot more likely to get what you're paying for at the dealer, in spite of the inflated price. Tag: Honda scheduled maintenance at dealer or Midas?
