Where is the fuel pump relay located on a 1990 volvo 240?
(2010-05-27 15:42:16) 1. Says: i need real specifics here pretend i've never seen a volvo before2. Says: The fuel pump relay is located under the dash, below the glove box.You will need to pull back the carpeting on the passenger side front under the dash, below the glove box.
Once that is done look straight up under the dash and you will see the ECU, and to the left of that two rectangular boxes, (these are the relays). They will be held to the firewall with metal brackets unless they have been replaced before, (probably done at least once before).
The light gray colored one is the fuel. Common problem on these cars.3. Says: the fuel relay switch for a 1990 240 is under the dash and beneath the glove box, yes, but it's the rectangular white box. it may be clipped in place near the firewall still or it may be dangling like most of them are by now. if you're trying to see if it works, try hanging on to it while you turn the key on. you should be able to feel and hear it click. if you're having fuel system problems, first check the fuel pump fuses. when turning the ignition key, listen for the in-tank pump. as for the fuel relay switch, if it's bad, then you should get a new one from the dealer, but you could also try popping off the white cover and spraying it lightly with wd-40. that may help. good luck Tag: Where is the fuel pump relay located on a 1990 volvo 240?
