Oil In Spark Plug Well?

(2010-05-30 09:43:02)
1. millenym2007 Says: My uncle changed my spark plugs today in my Mazda 626, i have a 6 cyl, and when he got to well #1 there was a considerable amount of oil in the well, but the rest were clean. What would cause this? And is it dangerous to keep driving around like this, will it start a fire? My car has been running fine except for occasional jumping/shaking, but no smoke or anything.
2. an old timer Says: Its not normal but it shouldn't cause any problems , the problem is your valve cover gasket is leaking keep a eye on the oil level , it should be replaced at some point , it will only get worse as time goes on
3. TDWPxADTRxRULES!!!!!!!!!!!! Says: Dont worry its normal.
4. Homey Says: Oil in one spark plug well of an overhead cam engine means the rubber gasket for that particular plug hole is bad. A valve cover gasket set normally has new seals for each plug. It, the bad one, may have been pinched during the last removal of the valve cover.
5. Mark Says: Change the valve cover gasket or you will have to keep changing that plug and waste more oil.
6. Adam Says: (LOL don't worry its normal...) Listen to the the people who actually explain what is going on with the car.

Id vote best answer for the three above me.
7. bandit_60 Says: your valve pan gasket is leaking and probably getting oil on the plug wires too.
