Why dont my car start ?

1. katiekinz Says: i got a ponyaic grand am 91. it starts fine illl drive around for a bit and when i park and shut off engine, it wont start back up. i have to wait between 20 to 45 minutes til it will start again.i changed fuel filter and sparkplugs and wires, can anyone help?

2. The-Razors-Edge Says: Check the signal voltage wire going to the ignition coil. If it is near any hot part of the motor, try moving it. Wires that are hot tend to have higher resistance and therefore not providing enough signal voltage to the coil to activate the ignition system.

3. Gronkguts Says: Had the same problem with my car. I didn't know I had to top up the water inside my battery. I had to wait for the remaining water to settle before I could start it again, and I had to clutch start it if I'd parked it on a slope. It needed a completely new battery because it was totally fried by the time a mechanic friend pointed it out to me.

4. bandit_60 Says: sounds more like electrical then fuel. it could be that the coil getting too hot and breaking down.
